It was an A class performance by Alexandra School A team as they dethroned St George Lions to lift the 2018 Bragging Rights Barbados Inc Football Tournament for the fourth time this past weekend at the Barbados Lumber Company ground.
Former Barbados number one custodian Morrison Taylor rolled back the years with a man-of-the-match performance, as he came up with two fantastic saves to deny St George a chance at repeating as champions.

Speaking after the match, Taylor told Barbados TODAY Alexandra had a point to prove and this year they were determined to do so having been kicked out of the group stage last year by St George Lions.
“This is really bragging rights for us. There was a lot of talk this year. People write us off saying we had our time, so it was just to come and prove the critics wrong and enjoy ourselves,” he said.
After a goalless opening half that lasted for 25 minutes, Alexandra and their supporters were in celebration mode when most valuable player Anthony Forde with most goals of nine, put away an incoming far post shot past St George's defence in the 30th minute.
St George had their moments in the final third compliments attacking midfielders and former national players Gregory 'Lalu' Goodridge and Jeffery Williams along with Ricky Ward positioned up front. But Alexandra's central defenders Julian Mottley and Kamal Parris did brilliantly to cover Taylor who was named most outstanding goalkeeper.
And even though it was a strong midfield tussle among Russell Gittens, Stephen Sandiford and Ryan Clarke of Alexandra against Goodridge and Williams who kept veteran referee Rudy Arthur quite busy, the men who once graced the halls of the Queen's Street, St Peter-based institution were the ones that eventually won that battle.
They made good use of a set play just outside the 18-yard box and there was Blackman, one of three men running up front for Alexandra along with Forde and Corey Greaves, to hit home goal number two in the 44th minute.
St George then began to probe and search for a response but again Taylor showed his quality when a leading ball from Goodridge to Williams found central defender and former Rendezvous Football club player Jomo Brathwaite who switched positions but just could not get the shot past Alexandra's skilled custodian.
Edwin Brereton scored the lone goal that led Christ Church Foundation School to victory over the St Michael School in the 16th minute of play.
The St Michael School and Grantley Adams Memorial were the newest additions this year with the former winning the award for demonstrating the best camaraderie. Former national player Kent Hall, a St Michael School old scholar was adjudged best midfielder while Dwayne Jones of the St George Lions was the top defender.
