LAPD appoints first black woman deputy chief

Regina Scott said she was honoured and humbled by the promotion

THE LOS Angeles Police Department has appointed a black woman as a deputy chief for the first time.

Regina Scott is the first African-American woman to reach the rank in history.

“I am both honoured and humbled by this historic promotion,” Scott said when the news was announced last month.
