Workers at the Barbados Port are back on the job after a brief work stoppage this morning.
It is still unclear what led to the action, but in a brief statement Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Port Inc (BPI) David Jean-Marie said the employees returned to work around 9 a.m. following consultations with officials from the Barbados Workers Union (BWU).
The statement said the BWU is set to meet with port workers on Monday, August 20 to address the issues raised this morning. As a result, operations at the Port will start at 10 a.m. on Monday.
