Victim identified in fatal crash

An 81-year-old Wallaceburg woman died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision north of Wallaceburg on Tuesday.

Chatham-Kent OPP have identified the victim as Catherine Tiffin.

OPP said first responders were called to the collision at Highway 40 and Langstaff Line around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators have since determined the female driver of the eastbound minivan drove through the stop sign and collided with the southbound dump truck, OPP said.

Tiffin was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Highway 40 between Whitebread Line and Dufferin Avenue was closed for approximately four hours.
