Festival to honour Steel Pulse album

'Handsworth Revolution' celebrates its 40th anniversary

THE 40TH anniversary of the release of Handsworth Revolution, the seminal album dropped by reggae legends Steel Pulse, will be among the landmark moments in the genre in this year’s 12th annual multi-media reggae festival throughout October in Birmingham.

Organised by the city’s multi-media arts development agency, Punch, BASS2018 will celebrate 50 years of reggae.

Participation has been con rmed from luminaries including Freddie McGregor, Toots & The Maytals, Grammy-winning producer Phillip ‘Winta’ James, queen of Lovers Rock, Carroll Thompson, and the UK’s Christopher Ellis.
