A 57-year-old car washer was sentenced to nine months in prison for burglary.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick imposed the punishment on Trevor Anthony Agard of no fixed place of abode today after he pleaded guilty to entering Habour Lights as a trespasser between October 19 and 22 and stealing 16 cans of beans, two bottles of sauce and a gallon of dishwashing liquid totaling $69.16 belonging to RCM Trading and Habour Lights.
Station Sergeant Carrison Henry said the business was secured on the first mentioned date but when officials returned to the room where the items were being stocked it was in disarray. A check was made of the CCTV footage and Agard was seen and later arrested.
The accused who is known to the court asked for leniency in sentencing.
“I does wash cars out there . . . and I ask if I can pay back the cost of the stock tomorrow,” he asked, but the sentence was imposed instead.
