A GIRL who wrote an award-winning essay about the relentless shootings in her neighbourhood in Milwaukee and around the United States has been shot dead by a stray bullet.
Thirteen-year-old Sandra Parks was in her bedroom at the time of the shooting when a bullet from a shooting outside her home entered through her window and landed in her chest.
Her mother, Bernice, told local news WITI that she found her daughter bleeding on the floor after she was awoken by gunshots just before 8pm.
Bernice said: “She said, ‘Momma, I’m shot. Call the police.
