Shouts could be heard from family and friends of four young men accused of murdering bread vendor Hayden Mayers and robbing there people on November 8 as they were led to the District ‘A’ Magistrate's Court by detectives.
But the atmosphere quickly turned sombre as a woman’s wails ripped through the air while the quartet walked out some ten minutes later en route to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds to be remanded for the next 28 days.
The four – 18-year-olds Romario Hobbs Daisley of Tranmore Lane, Bush Hall, St Michael and Rashon Akeem Sealy of 2nd Avenue Alleyne’s Land, Bush Hall, St Michael; Wayne Ricardo Bryan, 17, of School Lane, Halls Road, St Michael and Kishmar Issachar Omar Young, 20, of Chase Gap, Hall Road, St Michael – are charged with murdering 50-year-old Mayers. He was gunned down last Thursday night while plying his trade at Mansion Road, Bank Hall.

The accused, three of whom are represented by attorneys-at-law Harry Husbands and Jamar Bourne, were not required to plead to the capital offence as well as that of robbing Sinclair Alleyne of four rings worth $2,000, Roderick Artherley of a $250 cellular phone and Baisley Maxwell of a $79.20 wallet, a $400 cellular phone, BDS$80 and US$20 cash, all on November 8.
The men who appeared before acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins will make their next court appearance on December 13.
