Hard lesson for Morris

A man with a long history of drug-related matters, found himself before the court this morning once again on similar charges.

Dario Rico Morris of 2nd Ave Richmond Gap, St Michael, pleaded guilty to possession of 3.62 grams of marijuana on December 15, 2018. He appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick at the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

It was revealed that on the day in question, police were on duty at Baxter’s Road, The City where they saw the accused riding a bicycle while carrying a black bag. When the lawmen approached him, Morris tried to ride away but was caught. A search was conducted and the illegal drug was found.

“When are you going stop with this thing? Why you don’t work legitimately and save money to buy a house? You don’t see something like that in your future?” Frederick asked before handing down a sentence of a $300 forthwith fine. However, this did not mark the end of Morris’ legal troubles for the day, as a search of his records turned up an arrest warrant for an unpaid fine.
