Wallaceburg tops Blenheim
Victor Thomas scored 16 points and Gabe Namink had 15 for the Wallaceburg Tartans in a 59-32 win over the Blenheim Bobcats in Tier 2 of LKSSAA senior boys’ basketball Thursday.
At Blenheim, Carter Pickering scored seven for the Bobcats (0-2).
The Tartans (1-1) led 22-6, 33-10 and 49-20 at the quarters.
At McGregor, the Lambton Central Lancers beat the Panthers 55-50.
In junior action, Zander Williams scored 17 points and Rain Day added 16 in the Tartans’ 52-34 win over the Bobcats. Blake Tinline had 10 points for the Bobcats (0-2) and Preston Allen scored six.
The Tartans (1-1) led 18-4 after the first quarter.
The Panthers lost to the Lancers 65-35. Issac Meyerink scored seven, Eli Jobin had six and Kayden Labadie added five for McGregor (1-1), which trailed 22-1, 38-14 and 54-25 at the quarters.
Titans, Royals unbeaten
David Brooks-Taylor scored 12 points and Dylan Fawler had nine for the Tilbury Titans in a 57-35 win over the North Lambton Eagles in Tier 3 of LKSSAA senior boys’ basketball Thursday.
At Tilbury, the Titans (2-0) led 17-5, 33-15 and 45-23 at the quarters.
At Sarnia, the Ridgetown Royals also improved to 2-0 with a 52-39 win over St. Francois-Xavier.
At Pain Court, the Patriotes beat the Cardinals 58-44.
In junior action, Pain Court beat Lambton-Kent 53-30.
Tartans double Lancers
Ben Conlon and Cecil Jacobs each had a goal and an assist for the Wallaceburg Tartans in a 4-2 win over the Ursuline Lancers in LKSSAA boys hockey Thursday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.
Kellen Franquist and Spencer Chatel also scored for the Tartans (1-1-0).
Anthony Lucarelli had a goal and an assist for the Lancers (2-1-0), Sam MacKinlay also scored and Riley Drummond had two assists.
At Dresden, the Lambton-Kent Cardinals beat the Ridgetown Royals 2-1.
The Cardinals lead the South Division with a 3-0-0 record. The Royals are 0-5-0.
McGregor tosses in 18
LONDON – Alec McGregor of Chatham scored 18 points for Southwest Academy in a 110-103 overtime loss to Lincoln Prep on Wednesday in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association.
Southwest has a 5-3 record.
