Blades win home finale

BLENHEIM – Dede Cato, Drew Marlatt and Cameron Symons each scored twice for the Blenheim Blades in a 6-4 comeback win over the Mooretown Flags on Sunday in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Stobbs Division.

Chris Dewulf made 29 saves in the Blades’ home finale before 235 fans at Blenheim Memorial Arena.

Cato and Marlatt each had four points. Connor Wright, Will Tetzlaff and Kier Cumming also had two assists apiece.

The Blades led 3-0 early in the second period, but the Flags replied with four straight goals.

The Blades fought back with three goals in a span of 4:29 late in the third period.

The Blades (17-18-2-1) will finish in sixth place. They have two games left: Tuesday at Essex and Wednesday at Wheatley.

Kyle Smith scored two goals for the fifth-place Flags (19-16-1-4), Cameron Rombouts and Nolan Farr added singles, and Adam Mino made 34 saves.

Sharks fall to Admirals

AMHERSTBURG – Mason Gow scored for the Wheatley Omstead Sharks in a 5-1 loss to the Amherstburg Admirals on Sunday in the PJHL Stobbs Division.

Sharks goalie Tristan Edmondson made 24 saves.

Austin Jennings, Max Clifford, Travis Campbell, Cory Burns and Christian McBride scored for the Admirals, who led 2-0 after one period and 3-0 after two. Ben Larder made 24 saves.

Kings-Sharks postponed

Monday’s snowstorm postponed the PJHL Stobbs Division game in Dresden between the Kings and Wheatley Sharks.

They’ll now face off at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.

The Kings (28-9-0-2) are in third place, one point behind the Amherstburg Admirals (28-9-0-3).

The Sharks (15-21-0-2) will finish in seventh place.
