A self-employed man who allegedly committed several offences including resisting arrest was granted $3,000 bail when he appeared in court today to answer the charges.
Bellevue Gap, Station Hill, St Michael resident Charles Hilary Roberts is accused of being about to commit theft when he was allegedly found loitering at Military Road, Bush Hall, St Michael earlier today.
The 51-year-old denied the charge after Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant read it to him along with a charge of having cocaine paraphernalia in his possession, assaulting police constable Lenroy Scott and resisting him as well as his colleague Marlon Hinds on the same day as they executed their duties.
Roberts also entered not guilty pleas to damaging a watch belonging to officer Scott and allegedly having a sword in his possession without lawful authority or reasonable excuse all while at Military Road, a public place.
However his bail came with the condition that he report to the District ‘A’ Police Station every Wednesday before noon with valid identification until the cases against him are adjudicated. His next appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court is on September 24.
