Fiona Onasanya's sentence to be reviewed after complaint

A request for the MP's three-month jail term to be considered unduly lenient has been sent to the attorney general's office

THE THREE-MONTH jail sentence handed down to former Labour MP Fiona Onasanya is to be reviewed after it was deemed too lenient.

Onasanya was jailed for three months on Tuesday after she was found guilty of perverting the course of justice in relation to a speeding ticket.

Her car was caught driving 41mph in a 30mph zone in July, 2017.

The now-independent MP who has repeatedly denied the charges and that she was behind the wheel of the speeding vehicle has said she intends to appeal against her conviction.
