Jamaican-born Miss England finalist hopes to take crown

Mariam Bakre needs the public's support to be in with a chance of winning the coveted title

MARIAM BAKRE, a 23-year-old postgraduate from Grays, Essex, is one of the finalists competing in the Miss England photo heat for entry to Miss England 2019.

Bakre, who was born and raised in Jamaica to Nigerian parents, has lived in the UK for the past 11 years.

The public vote, which acts as an additional judge on the panel, is now open.

Bakre needs the public’s support before voting lines close in order to secure a place in the Miss England semi-final held in June 2019.
