THE NUMBER of fatal stabbings in England and Wales has reached a record high, statisticians have revealed.
Analysis from the Office for National Statistics, shows that numbers have hit the highest level since records began more than 70 years ago, with 285 homicides by a knife or sharp instrument in March 2018 — an increase of 73 on the previous year.
The ONS says one in four (71) of all victims (285) were men aged 18-24.
