The star shared the revelation on David Tennant's podcast

WHOOPI GOLDBERG has taken on many iconic roles during her career - and it looks like the star had her sights set on one of the most notable British characters on telly.
Goldberg revealed that years ago, she asked BBC to give her the lead role in Doctor Who. "The idea of that just so made me happy. But they were like, 'Um, no,’" she said.
Jodie Whittaker became the first female Doctor in 2018.
Speaking on David Tennant's podcast - the man who played the legendary Doctor for five years - Goldberg added: "I always felt like science fiction predicted the future.
