Windsor Symphony coming to Chatham Friday

The Windsor Symphony Orchestra is returning to St. Andrew’s United Church in Chatham this Friday.

This is the symphony’s second Chatham-Kent performance of their 2018-19 season. The musicians will perform a program full of Italian baroque music.

“Lively melodies, interlocking lines and captivating beauty are all hallmarks of music written between 1600 and 1750 which is considered the baroque era,” a news release from the church stated.

“The audience will be able to sit back and enjoy the soaring melodies of Italian composers of that baroque era including (Antonio) Vivaldi, (Ottorino) Respighi, (Giovanni Battista) Pergolesi, (Arcangelo) Corelli and (George Frideric) Handel.”

WSO music director Robert Franz will conduct, with feature performances from mezzo soprano Erin Armstrong-Dickau and concertmaster Lillian Scheirich.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for $25 in advance or $30 at the door. They can be purchased at the St. Andrew’s box office at 519-352-0010 and the Chatham Capitol Theatre box office or from cktickets.com. Students may attend for free.
