COMMUNITY ACTIVIST and Windrush campaigner Patrick Vernon OBE has been honoured with a major award.
Vernon won the 2019 Long-Term Achievement Award at the Sheila McKechnie Foundation’s 2019 National Campaigner Awards.
The recognition was for his work over the past twenty years campaigning on race equality and social justice issues which include deaths in custody, mental health, and teaching black history as part of the national curriculum.
