Sharif Cousins was shot in the chest at point blank range in Birmingham in July 2017

FOLLOWING THE shooting of an unarmed black man in Frankley, south Birmingham, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) found that the West Midlands Police officers involved “followed policy and procedure throughout the incident”.
Sharif Cousins, who was unarmed when the non-fatal shooting took place, was taken to hospital after being shot in the chest by a firearms officer in an alleyway off Epping Close on the evening of 26 July 2017.
