Village on the Ridge employees ratify agreement

Employees of Village on the Ridge Retirement Residence have ratified a three-year collective agreement.

According to the Christian Labour Association of Canada, the deal will provide wage and benefit increases, as well as improvements to the weekend premium. The 88 employees are represented by Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303. The local has represented the workers at Village on the Ridge since 1995.

“It’s difficult in this climate to provide for a satisfactory settlement for all parties,” says Trish Douma, the association’s regional director. “Our members are dedicated to the community in which they serve and we are dedicated to improving their work lives.”
