Moscow: It was second time lucky on Tuesday as an unmanned spacecraft carrying Russia’s first humanoid robot into orbit docked at the International Space Station following a failed attempt over the weekend. “Sorry for the delay. Got stuck in traffic. Am ready to carry on with work,” the robot’s Twitter account said in a jokey first tweet from space. Copying human movements and designed to help with high-risk tasks, the life-size robot named Fedor is due to stay on the ISS until September 7. PTI

Sindh lawmakers call for special prayers to combat flies  

Karachi: Swarms of flies are so much troubling the people of Pakistan's Sindh province so that the issue was not only raised in the Assembly, but lawmakers also called for special prayers to get rid of the menace. MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said the government should not only say with rain comes the water, it should also say that the rain brings swarms of flies. PTI

KFC to test meatless chicken at Georgia restaurant  

Washington: KFC will test vegetarian, plant-based chicken for one day in one restaurant in the US state of Georgia, the American fast food giant said on Monday. Complimentary samples of the new product, which was developed in partnership with Beyond Meat and is dubbed “Beyond Fried Chicken”, will be available at the KFC in Smyrna, Georgia on Tuesday, and customers can also buy nuggets and boneless wings made from the non-meat. afp
