A different kind of ‘lime’

If you are looking for the usual Saturday lime with a unique twist, then look no further as Sobèro has you covered with their all-inclusive party happening on November 10th.

The party which will be held at Bellevue Plantation House, St Michael, is the brainchild of friends and business partners Janelle Roach and Sherry Sobers.

Speaking to Bajan Vibes, Roach said that persons should attend her event as it offers the traditional Saturday vibe but with a difference as you get drinks, food and a performance by Lil Rick for $200.

“It is an experience. It will be an experience. It will be something to talk about. It will be something to look forward to. It is someplace where you can meet people, just hang out and have a good time and relax. Have a different kind of Saturday vibe,” she said, adding that the management of Sobèro plans to have their inaugural event annually.

“Yes, definitely we are also looking to do a breakfast party in June. We will definitely be keeping up with the November tradition,” she said.

Roach noted that they faced challenges upon starting the venture and she had to use the name of her popular Bank Hall Bar Yard Bar to get some of the sponsors (Hennessey, Mount Gay, Banks) on board for the inaugural event.

“In terms of sponsorship and getting people to do stuff, I had to leverage the bar a lot. I was trying not to do that and because I am new. When I used the bar’s name it was much easier. Hopefully, from next year the brand would be able to stand on its own,” she said.

With the recent increase in crime, Roach assured that her event was safe as members of The Royal Barbados Police Force and private security will be present. She’s inviting artistes to come out and support the event whether as performers or patrons.

“Come out, chill and have a good time... even if they do not want to perform but they want to come and catch a vibe, see what it is about and know that next time they want to be a part of this,” Roach said.

The event takes place on November 10 at Bellevue Plantation House from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. For further information on the event contact Janelle Roach at 851-8318. (LG)
