Great food, rum and music

If you were looking for great company, mouthwatering food, tasty beverages and a stellar musical line up, Rum & Tings was the ideal place to be last Saturday night.

The inaugural event kicked off at the Pure Ocean Restaurant, Dover, Christ Church. A stop in the Gourmet Safari Dinner Series included delectable gourmet dishes with Barbadian favourites such as cou cou, grilled fish, pudding and souse – the ‘pork mouths’ were happy and full as there was a wide range of pork dishes to be had.

Executive Chef Henderson Butcher who designed the concept also catered to those with a different palate offering seafood, fish and vegetarian dishes for patrons.

Aside from the delicious food, the alcoholic drinks invoked bouts of laughter from patrons; these cocktails tantalized the taste buds with names such as Indulgence and Fornication concocted by mixologist Alexander Davinci.

The party got underway just after 7 p.m. with Deejay Stress of the Energy Deejays keeping the atmosphere lively. There were also performances by Ray Vibes who mellowed the lovers and vintage reggae lovers while singing covers of Bruno MarsJust The Way You Are, Bob Marley’s Wait In Vain and Gregory Issac’s Irie.

The soca contingent energized the crowd and revved up the party. There were performances from Mr Blood, Ishaka and veteran soca artiste Red Plastic Bag. (KK)
