BME academic staff face pay gap at Cambridge University

A report has discovered black and other ethnic minority employees at the institution are being paid significantly less than their white counterparts

BLACK AND minority ethnic academics at Cambridge are making on average almost £12,000 less per year than their white counterparts, it has been reported.

The figures, which are based on data of Cambridge staff who disclosed their ethnicity, were revealed by Varsity, Cambridge University’s independent student newspaper.

Black academic and research staff at Cambridge University have an average salary of £37,495, compared to an average salary of £49,442 for white academic and research staff, Varsity reported.
