Brother gets bail

After spending three days at HMP Dodds for allegedly threatening to shoot two of his sisters, Emmerson Dacosta Deane is back home. The 48-year-old of #17 Magneta Drive, Todds, St George, had been remanded to prison by Magistrate Graveney Bannister over the weekend after appearing in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court.

Deane was charged with using the threatening words, “I am going to buy a gun and shoot you,” to Monica Deane on November 10, as well as telling Glendine Deane, “I will shoot you,” on the same date. However, through his attorney Harry Husbands, Deane was today able to secure bail in the High Court in the sum of $5000 with one surety. The bail was granted by Madam Justice Pamela Beckles in the No. 5 Court.

As part of his bail conditions he was ordered to keep away from his sisters. Deane will appear in the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court on December 14.
