Meek Mill pens powerful essay on prison reform

“It’s clearer than ever that a disproportionate number of men and women of colour are treated unfairly by a broken criminal justice system,” says the rapper

MEEK Mill has penned an essay for the New York Times, calling for sweeping changes to the criminal justice system.

The rapper spent five months in prison before his release in April (18), after lawmakers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania overturned a judge's decision to keep him locked up for violating his probation, linked to a 2008 drug and gun bust.
