The decision has been taken by a number of student unions at institutions in London as they aim to be less offensive and more inclusive
STUDENTS AT a number of London universities have started using the word womxn instead of women as part of the efforts to be more inclusive and less offensive.
Posts shared on the Goldsmiths University Students' Union Facebook page consistently use the term wxmen instead of women. Of the those published recently, there hasn’t been much of a reaction from students, although one did comment: “So how are we meant to pronounce ‘womxn’?”
As well as Goldsmiths students' union, King’s College London's student union has also stopped using the term in student communications and societies.
