The race is on for the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to replace several water tanks in various communities across the island.
The project is well underway, and the BWA says all involved are committed to ensuring that the tanks are replaced, starting with the most vulnerable areas, as soon as possible.
This is as a result of a joint initiative between the BWA, corporate Barbados and individuals who came forward to assist with the effort through donations of cash, supplies, expertise and time.
Members of the BWA’s construction section are being ably assisted by other trained workers who, though attached to other sections, have been hard at work assisting on this project.
The BWA says staff worked consistently through the weekend starting on Friday night, until today to complete the bases on which the tanks need to be placed.
The Authority says it wishes to sincerely thank all parties who have generously and selflessly given to this endeavour.
