The father of murdered teenager Stephen has spoken out about how to move forward 20 years after the Macpherson report was published
NEVILLE LAWRENCE, the father of murdered teenager Stephen, has said that police forces are still not being held to account.
Speaking ahead of yesterday's 20th anniversary of the Macpherson report, which examined how the Metropolitan Police Service investigated Stephen’s death, Lawrence said that he believes violent crime in Britain is worse now than it was when his son was killed.
Stephen was fatally stabbed during a racist attack in Eltham, south London, in 1993. He was 18 years old.
