Chatham-Kent police are asking the public to help return a decades-old wedding album to its rightful owners.
“It was recovered as part of a search warrant,” said Const. Renee Cowell , declining to offer any more details.
She said a search warrant was conducted few weeks ago by the street crimes unit, and police have explored different ways to try to identify where and when the photographs were taken.
“The main goal is we have it. We want to make sure it’s returned to its rightful owner,” Cowell said. “We’ve come up empty-handed so … we’re really hoping that the public can help us out.”
If anyone recognizes these wedding photos, they are asked to contact Const. Mark VanderGriendt at markvan@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 ext. 293.
This is the second wedding-related matter that Chatham police have been involved with so far this year.
In late February, police helped save the day so a couple could have the their wedding memories captured in photographs. Officers responded to an area where it was reported a man riding a bicycle had stolen approximately $8,000 worth of photography gear that was going to be used to take pictures of a wedding.
While one officer arrested a suspect, another officer rushed to the ceremony and returned the equipment to the photographer.
