Three people arrested after fleeing C-K police

Two Blenheim men and a Chatham woman were arrested after a police pursuit on Monday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police said an officer tried to pull over a vehicle after the driver didn’t signal a turn while on Anger Street in Blenheim.

Police said the vehicle sped off out of Blenheim while also disobeying stop signs.

The officer called off the pursuit for public safety concerns, but a short time later another officer saw the vehicle speeding on Pinehurst Line.

Police said the driver, 33 of Blenheim, stopped on English Line and fled the vehicle on foot. He was arrested while trying to escape across McGregor’s Creek.

The two passengers, a 26-year-old female and 23-year-old male, were also taken into custody in the area, police said.

A search of the vehicle resulted in a glass meth pipe being found and seized, police said.

The driver was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with his release conditions, drug possession and driving while under suspension.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police said.

The woman was charged with drug possession and being in possession of a prohibited weapon, police said. She was released with a March 7 court date.

The male passenger was charged with drug possession and failing to comply with his release conditions. He was also released with a March 7 court date.
